The Premier League returns on Boxing Day after a near-six-week break for the World Cup.
A quick refresher if you’re struggling to remember what went on pre-Qatar: Arsenal are five points clear at the top, ahead of Manchester City, Eddie Howe’s surprise package Newcastle lie third and Spurs are just about holding off Manchester United in fourth.
At the other end of the table, Wolves are bottom but under new management after the appointment of ex-Sevilla head coach Julen Lopetegui and are joined in the relegation spots by Southampton, now managed by Nathan Jones, and Nottingham Forest.
The pick of the Boxing Day clashes is probably the early kick-off between Brentford and Spurs. Antonio Conte’s side will be desperate to restart their campaign with a win, but there may be fatigue issues after their players played the second-most minutes in Qatar.
Brentford are 10th, but all eyes will be on Ivan Toney after it was announced that he is now being investigated by the FA for 262 breaches of betting rules.
Elsewhere, Unai Emery will be hoping to maintain his positive start at Aston Villa against Liverpool and table-topping Arsenal welcome West Ham to the Emirates.
There are two more matches on Tuesday 27 December, before Leeds and Manchester City round the gameweek off at Elland Road.
