Forget 55 years without a major final, England have triumphed over the ITV curse after beating Denmark at Wembley on Wednesday.
Italy await in Sunday’s final and the game will be shown live on both ITV and BBC. The Three Lions’ record on the former has a lot to be desired, with the Euro 2016 defeat to Iceland and the heartbreak of the World Cup semi-final against Croatia both occurring on the channel.
That’s not to mention David Beckham’s red card against Argentina or the penalty shootout defeat to Portugal at the 2006 World Cup.
However, Gareth Southgate’s men are all about making new history and breaking records – so millions of fans will be switching onto ITV’s hugely popular coverage this weekend.
Before the match itself, they will be showing a special preview programme featuring Ian Wright, Roy Keane and Gary Neville on Saturday night at 10.55pm.
The trio will also be present for the game alongside presenter Mark Pougatch. Coverage of the final begins at 6.30pm with kick-off at 8pm.
Seema Jaswal will be pitchside again with Chelsea Women’s manager Emma Hayes and former England left-back Ashley Cole.
