When are the Euro 2020 semi-finals? Fixture dates, kick-off times, TV coverage and who England could play

The climax of Euro 2020 takes place in London this July, with Wembley Stadium hosting both the semi-finals and final of the tournament.

Up to 60,000 fans will be in attendance for each of the last three games of the European Championship after an increase in spectators was agreed.

There had been reports the matches may move, with games in both Copenhagen and Budapest welcoming full-capacity crowds, but Uefa went on to confirm Wembley would remain as hosts.

Euro 2020 quarter-final fixtures and results

Eight will be whittled down to four over the next couple days with two quarter-finals taking place on Friday and a further two on Saturday.

Is there a third-place play-off?

There is for the World Cup, but not the European Championships. The last time the Euros had a third-place play-off was 1980, when there were eight teams in the competition and two groups of four. The winners of each group played in the final, with the runners-up left competing for third.

It was scrapped for 1984, despite remaining with eight teams, with the top two from each group going through to semi-finals before the winners then played in the final.

When is the Euro 2020 final?

The final takes place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 11 July, with kick-off 8pm BST.

BBC and ITV will both broadcast the final, meaning it will also be available to watch for free on BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub.

Euro 2020 winner odds

England headed into the quarter-finals as favourites, but that was arguably down to the fact Spain, Belgium and Italy remained in the other half of the draw. Were England to reach the final then they could find themselves underdogs with the bookies, particularly if Italy, on a fine unbeaten run, or Belgium – the world’s No 1 ranked team – reach the 11 July encounter.

Best odds at time of writing on 2 July

  • England – 2-1
  • Spain – 16-5
  • Italy – 4-1
  • Belgium – 7-1
  • Denmark – 10-1
  • Switzerland – 25-1
  • Czech Republic – 25-1
  • Ukraine – 40-1
