Football fans have spotted Sam Allardyce – the man who could be managing England in Russia – watching the Three Lions’ 6-1 win over Panama sat alone in a pub, tucking into a burger.
Allardyce resigned as England manager after just a single game in charge in September 2016 following allegations of malpractice.
The now unemployed former Everton, West Ham and Bolton boss took charge of England’s opening World Cup qualifier, a last-ditch 1-0 win over Slovakia.
What could have been…
But while Gareth Southgate coached the Three Lions to a thumping victory in Nizhny Novgorod, Allardyce spent Sunday afternoon at a William Hill event at the Lord Ragland in Holborn, London.
A fan took a video of Big Sam eating a burger while sat alone at a table watching the game.

However, it was not a Big Mac as many claimed. Pub staff said he was actually eating a Greene King ‘1966 Burger’, which includes pulled roast hog meat, stuffing, apple sauce, burger sauce and lettuce.
Earlier in the day Allardyce had also taken on Robbie Savage in a game of pool, taken part in a Q&A and posed for photos with fans.

Allardyce was forced to quit as England manager after just six months following a Daily Telegraph sting.
Undercover reporters filmed him speaking to fictitious businessmen about how to get around Fifa and FA bans on third-party player ownership.
He was also filmed making derogatory comments about former England boss Roy Hodgson and assistant manager Gary Neville.
Allardyce’s short-lived tenure
The FA said at the time: “Due to the serious nature of his actions, the FA and Allardyce have mutually agreed to terminate his contract with immediate effect.
“This is not a decision that was taken lightly but the FA’s priority is to protect the wider interests of the game and maintain the highest standards of conduct in football.”
On 16 May Allardyce left his job as Everton manager after less than a season in charge, guiding them to an eighth place finish.
