Pick of the BBC matches

All five matches which the BBC are set to show will feature at least one Premier League team, and closing out their coverage for the weekend will be Liverpool’s trip to Manchester United, a week on from their league meeting at Anfield which ended 0-0.

There will be an intrigue regarding the line-ups from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jurgen Klopp given both sides are back in action in midweek, while the BBC will hope the meeting can draw a big audience after Sky Sports announced Sunday’s draw between the two sides saw a record average of 4.5m viewers tune in – Sky’s biggest audience for an event exclusively on the channel.

But away from this all-Premier League tie, the club dreaming of an FA Cup upset on the BBC are Cheltenham Town, with the League Two outfit hosting Manchester City on Saturday.

Cheltenham are in the fourth round for the first time since 2006, and five years on from their promotion to League Two, Michael Duff’s side welcome City to the Jonny-Rocks Stadium knowing a number of stars will be on show given Pep Guardiola has tended to field strong sides in the FA Cup.

Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri and Kyle Walker were among the starters at home to Birmingham City in the previous round, and Cheltenham can expect to see some big names in the City line-up come Saturday.

The FA Cup on BT Sport

BT will be showing 11 of the 16 fourth round matches, with five games on BT Sport 1, and the two standout matches are arguably the ties which open and close the weekend’s cup action.

On Friday, non-league Chorley host Premier League club Wolves a fortnight after the National League North side beat Derby 2-0 in the third round.

Then on Monday, Wycombe Wanderers welcome Tottenham to Adams Park, 20 years on from the club’s remarkable and expected run to the FA Cup semis.

Spurs’ one and only meeting with Wycombe was a thrilling 4-3 victory at White Hart Lane in 2017, with Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min scoring in the final minutes to overturn a 3-2 deficit and help their side avoid a giant upset.

Fifth round draw: Already done

With the draw for the fifth round taking place at the same time as the fourth-round draw, clubs will already know of the possibilities that await them next month.
