Parts of the UK witnessed temperatures as low as 15.4C on Thursday night and with freezing conditions likely to continue into the weekend, football fixtures are at risk of cancellation.
While most Premier League and Championship fixtures should be protected from snow and ice thanks to under-soil heating, those lower down the leagues won’t be so lucky.
A number of fixtures in England National League and Scotland’s League Two were called off as early as Friday morning and more are likely to go as the weekend begins.
