Premier League results: Man City sweep past Liverpool to put pressure on Arsenal

Manchester City romped back from a goal behind to smash Liverpool 4-1 at the Etihad and temporarily go five points behind Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

Mo Salah had opened the scoring on 17 minutes with a deft curling finish after Diogo Jota’s smart counter-attack, before Julian Alvarez equalised shortly after.

Almost immediately after half-time, Kevin de Bruyne finished off an exceptional passing move for Pep Guardiola’s side and the Citizens never looked back.

Ilkay Gundogan’s finish put City 3-1 ahead, before Jack Grealish, who ran tirelessly all afternoon, made it a rout with 15 minutes to go after a one-two with De Bruyne.
