Around 32 of the world’s best football clubs have begun battling it out for supremacy as the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 gets underway in the United States.
Manchester City are the reigning champions from 2023 but they face clubs such as Spain’s Real Madrid and Germany’s Bayern Munich in this tournament.
Since 2023, the event has undergone a format change, replacing the old FIFA Club World Championship.
Now, the most successful club sides from each of the six international confederations – AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA – are up against each other from 14 June to 13 July in a bid to win the trophy and be crowned the new Club World Cup Champions.

Who is competing in the 2025 Club World Cup?
There are 32 teams competing in the 2025 Club World Cup, with 63 matches over the course of the month-long tournament in the USA.
The reigning champions are Manchester City and the hosting team is David Beckham’s Inter Miami CF.

Club World Cup 2025 format and full schedule
For the new format of the Club World Cup, the 32 qualifying clubs are placed into eight groups of four teams – Groups A to H – where they will play against each other.
The top two teams from each group then go on to qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
In this stage, there is a round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final.
However, unlike the World Cup, there is no third-place play-off.

How can I watch the Club World Cup in the UK?
For those who were unable to get hold of tickets for the tournament in the US, there is still the opportunity to watch coverage of the games on television.
DAZN has exclusive broadcasting rights for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
It means all 63 matches will be live-streamed, free to view on DAZN worldwide.
Viewers will need to sign up for a free account to watch via the streamer and then will be able to use the DAZN app to watch via TVs, smartphones and other devices.
Channel 5 is also airing 23 of the matches during the tournament.
Highlights from the tournament will be available on the Channel 5 YouTube channel and social accounts each day.
And Channel 5’s streaming service will also air a daily magazine show, The Press, with James Alcott and Julien Laurens going through the highs and lows of the day.
