At the end of the longest Premier League season on record, i is assessing all 20 teams: what went right, what went wrong, and what they need to do in the transfer window.
We’re starting with the relegated sides on Tuesday afternoon and working our way up to the top four on Thursday.
Here’s a schedule of what to expect (follow us on Facebook and Twitter so you don’t miss out):
- Tuesday PM: The Relegated – Bournemouth, Watford, Norwich
- Wednesday AM: The Survivors – Newcastle, Palace, Brighton, West Ham, Villa
- Wednesday PM: The Mid-Table – Sheff Utd, Burnley, Southampton, Everton
- Thursday AM: The European Contenders – Leicester, Spurs, Wolves, Arsenal
- Thursday PM: The Top Table: Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea
1st: Liverpool
Season review – Where next?: What else is there for Jurgen Klopp’s men to achieve? They will start as favourites to retain their crown, although a disappointing defence of their European title is one motivational tool to kick on again next year. A clear summer could work in their favour, with rivals involved in Europe/finals as the Reds relax on the beach/in lockdown.
Targets in:
1. Harvey Barnes (Leicester)
2. Thiago Alcantara (Bayern Munich)
3. Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli)
Targets out:
1. Divock Origi
2. Xherdan Shaqiri
3. Loris Karius
2nd: Man City
Season review – Champions League vital: How key overturning the European ban could be. Pep Guardiola has never spent more than four seasons coaching one club and, with Leroy Sané gone, David Silva going and Sergio Aguero possibly eyeing an exit, summer buys will be vital – and that could be dictated by progress in Champions League. Defence is a clear issue, a year after Vincent Kompany left.
Targets in:
1. Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli)
2. Nathan Ake (Bournemouth)
3. Ferran Torres (Valencia)
Targets out:
1. Claudio Bravo
2. John Stones
3. Oleksandr Zinchenko
3rd: Man Utd
Season review – Must spend wisely: David de Gea surely cannot keep being forgiven, and an unconvincing defence could be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s biggest concern. He cannot allow a leaky defence to undermine one of Europe’s most vibrant attacks. Shopping will again be key after he steadied the ship, thanks in no small part to Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood.
Targets in:
1. Jadon Sancho (Dortmun)
2. Jack Grealish (Aston Villa)
3. Declan Rice (West Ham)
Targets out:
1. Paul Pogba
2. Daniel James
3. Phil Jones
4th: Chelsea
Season review – Stronger next season: Despite problems at the back, Frank Lampard’s first season gets a big tick – whatever the outcome of Saturday’s FA Cup final. A Champions League place appeared ambitious, but Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic stepped up at various times and positive reinforcements make the Blues even stronger next term.
Targets in:
1. Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen)
2. Ben Chilwell (Leicester)
3. Andre Onana (Ajax)
Targets out:
1. Kepa
2. Michy Batshuayi
3. Marcos Alonso
