PFA Player of the Year – the full list of winners: from 1974 to present day

A clutch of Liverpool’s Premier League title winners alongside Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne are the front-runners for this season’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

Jordan Henderson was crowned the Football Writer’s Association Player of the Year last week and is a contender for the PFA award alongside teammates Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

Van Dijk claimed the award last season and in doing so became the first defender to win it since John Terry in 2005, while Salah won it in 2018 following a sensational debut campaign with Liverpool.

Since the award was launched for the 1973-74 season, only Mark Hughes, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have won it more than once.
