Brentford will celebrate their return to the top flight for the first time in more than 70 years by hosting fellow Londoners Arsenal on the opening day of the 2021-22 Premier League season.
The Bees, who beat Swansea in the play-off final to secure their place in the top tier of English football, will open their season with consecutive London derbies, heading to Crystal Palace after the visit of the Gunners before taking on Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Palace also find themselves with a London-heavy start to the season as they are due at Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend before hosting Brentford and then taking on West Ham, all before the end of August.
Perhaps the pick of the opening weekend’s fixtures though will come at Old Trafford, where Leeds United will renew their legendary rivalry with Manchester United, potentially in front of a full stadium of fans.
