Bukayo Saka has retained his starting place in England‘s team against Germany following a man of the match display in the 1-0 win against the Czech Republic last Tuesday.
The 19-year-old Arsenal star is expected to line up on the right wing with Raheem Sterling occupying the other wide role alongside Harry Kane in the middle.
Gareth Southgate has also changed his system from a 4-2-3-1 last time out to an expected 3-4-3 formation to match Germany up with Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish making way.
Grealish has been named on the substitutes bench alongside fellow creative midfielders Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho and Mason Mount, whose period of self-isolation ended on Monday.
One player who is not among Southgate’s backup options is Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as he has been surprisingly omitted from the 23-man matchday squad.
It means that Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, or else Sterling, looks the most likely alternative to Kane in the centre forward if the captain is withdrawn for the third time in four games.
Defenders Ben Chilwell and Ben White are the other players left out.
Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips will be up against Toni Kroos and Leon Goretzka in central midfield, while Kieran Trippier and Luke Shaw are in direct opposition to Robin Gosens and Joshua Kimmich.
Kyle Walker will reprise his right-sided centre back role from the World Cup in Russia alongside John Stones and Harry Maguire with Jordan Pickford in goal.
