England squad in full: The 25-man line-up for World Cup 2022 qualifiers against Albania and San Marino

Jadon Sancho has been left out of England’s squad for November’s World Cup qualifiers against Albania and San Marino as Gareth Southgate named his 25-man squad.

Jude Bellingham will return after being rested but there was no place for Mason Greenwood, or Arsenal teenager Emile Smith Rowe, who is still waiting on his first senior call-up.

Sancho is yet to score for Manchester United since joining from Borussia Dortmund this summer, though Tammy Abraham has reaped the rewards of his switch to Roma as he was named among the forwards.

Southgate’s men need four points from their final two games in Group I to guarantee automatic qualification for Qatar 2022.

Yet while it’s been a relatively straightforward path to the World Cup, draws with Poland and Hungary – sandwiching a 5-0 win over Andorra – have stalled their momentum.

England will host Albania on Friday 12 November, before travelling to San Marino on 15 November.
