The summer transfer window promises to be another big one in the world of football with the rumour mill already in full swing.
Once the Premier League season concludes on 28 May, attention will turn to the summer’s potential incomings and outgoings.
Soon enough, agents’ phones will start ringing up and down the country as clubs look to bolster or trim their squads.
Meanwhile, for those who are fortunate to be blessed with a slightly bigger budget, they may decide to try their luck in Europe instead.
When does the summer transfer window open?
The Premier League has confirmed that the 2023 summer transfer window will open on Wednesday, 14 June.
However, all moves must be completed before it closes at 11pm on Friday, 1 September.
That should in theory give clubs plenty of time to sort everything out, but, as we all know, nothing is ever that straightforward, especially considering the amount of money involved these days.
Who could be on the move?
Jude Bellingham
Bellingham, one of England‘s stars at the 2022 World Cup, could be on his way to Real Madrid. The Spanish giants reportedly value him at €100m (£87m), according to The Athletic. We suspect that might go up quite a bit if Borussia Dortmund claim their first Bundesliga title since 2011-12.
Harry Kane
After months of speculation, all signs point towards Kane finally leaving Tottenham. The question is, where exactly will he go?
Lionel Messi
Would it be a transfer window if we didn’t mention Lionel Messi? At the moment there’s talk of him moving to Saudi Arabia, where he could be set for a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo.
James Maddison
Leicester are staring down the barrel of relegation, but Maddison probably won’t be joining them. Instead, it looks like he’ll be off to Newcastle by all accounts.
Mason Mount
Once considered the darling of Chelsea, Mount now looks increasingly likely to depart this summer when he enters the final year of his contract. Liverpool and Manchester United are understood to be the two clubs battling for his signature.
Declan Rice
Like his old pal Mount, Rice is also expected to leave West Ham – with reports linking him to Arsenal and Chelsea. For now, though, his mind will be on next month’s Europa Conference League final.
Christian Pulisic
The Blues are preparing for a mass clear-out at Stamford Bridge, with Pulisic among those facing the axe. Sadly it has never really quite worked out for the American, who has had to deal with his fair share of injuries over the years.
