Planning a complete revamp of your Fantasy Premier League squad? Here’s a guide on how to use the “Wildcard” function…
Although players are only allowed one free transfer a week, the “Wildcard” ensures you will always have a second chance to disassemble and rebuild a mini-league winning side.
What is a Wildcard?
A Wildcard allows a player to make an unlimited number of permanent transfers in one Gameweek without fear of incurring transfer penalties.
Any points fines already implemented will be removed following the use of the Wildcard function.
These transfers don’t have to be made at the same time and can be made until the Gameweek deadline passes.
How do I use my Wildcard?
Fantasy Premier League tips: 5 players to sign for your FPL team in Gameweek 8
Simply go to the transfer page and make more than one transfer. Then select the ‘Play Wildcard’ function at the top of the page.
When can I use my Wildcard?
The Wildcard function can be used twice in a season.
Once during the first half of the season – between Gameweek 1 and 29 December, and once during the second half of the season.
When should I use my Wildcard?
This entirely depends on your team – if you’re happy with how your team are performing, then there’s little point in revamping your entire squad.
If, however, your squad is plagued by injuries or is simply under performing that’s when your Wildcard will be at it’s most handy.
Ideally players should implement their Wildcard at the start of a Gameweek in order to give yourself plenty of time to implement team changes.
FPL managers should also avoid using their Wildcard in the lead up to December 29 when their second Wildcard chip becomes available and instead activate their chip well in advance of the January transfer window.
Can I cancel my Wildcard?
No, once your Wildcard has been redeemed you are unable to reverse your decision.
