Alexis Sanchez has hit out at the Sun newspaper for what he alleges is a “fake” story about his reaction to Jose Mourinho’s dismissal at Manchester United.
A back page story in Friday’s edition of the paper reports that Sanchez sent a WhatsApp message to his teammates suggesting he had won a bet on the manager’s sacking.
Sharing a picture of the paper with the word “FALSE !!!” stamped across, Sanchez dismissed the story and insisted he had a good relationship with Mourinho.
Buena suerte mañana familia ! pic.twitter.com/mKDTVOwsrj

“This is fake!!!” Sanchez wrote. “The boss brought me to the best team in the world and I only have thanks for him.
“We’re a real United team. We’re MANCHESTER UNITED. Respect. I can’t wait to be able to help the team, we’re going to get ahead together. Good luck tomorrow family!”
The Sun has been approached for comment.
What does The Sun report say?
The Sun says Sanchez, which it describes as “Manchester United’s £505,000-a-week flop”, texted teammates to “revel” in Mourinho’s demise and that Marcos Rojo owed him money for a bet.
According to the paper, Sanchez’s message read: “I told you so!! Patience is all it takes. Rojo you owe me £20k.”
“The pictures and news of the WhatsApp message come at a time when Sanchez’s stock with the Red Devils fans could not be lower,” the paper says.
“They have already grown sick of Sanchez’s displays since he joined almost 12 months ago from Arsenal.”
