Arsenal will return to Premier League action against Burnley at the weekend following their elimination from the Carabao Cup in a midweek north London derby.

Unai Emery’s side lost 2-0 to Tottenham to crash out of the League Cup, and now return focus to winning in the league following their loss to Southampton last Sunday on Ralph Hasenhuttl’s debut.

Rob Holding, Danny Welbeck, Emile Smith-Rowe and Konstantinos Mavropanos are all out injured, while Sead Kolasinac, Hector Bellerin and Shkodran Mustafi are all doubts for Arsenal.

Granit Xhaka will likely be fielded in central defence once again due to injury issues elsewhere in the squad. Mesut Ozil will likely be sidelined as his exit from the club is rumoured to be planned for January owing to tensions with Emery.

For Burnley, Stephen Ward and Nick Pope remain injured while Aaron Lennon is carrying a knock. Steven Defour and Johann Gudmundsson are also doubts, but will likely start due to Burnley’s reliance on them.
