The big screens and parks to watch England vs Spain in the Euro 2024 final

After 58 years of hurt for England’s men, Gareth Southgate’s side is just one game away from European glory.

Millions of fans across the country will be huddling around their televisions, cramming into pubs, and packing out public viewing areas to watch the nerve-wracking tournament final against Spain.

England’s men will be looking to win their first major trophy since Sir Alf Ramsey’s side lifted the World Cup in 1966.

While not quite a once-in-a-lifetime event – more like twice in three years following the women’s victory – many supporters will still be looking for the perfect atmosphere to join together in the hope of celebrating England’s first European Championships win.

Fans will also be glad to know there looks to be almost no chance of rain as fan parks and public spaces open up to outdoor screenings.

Here, i takes a look at some of the best public places to watch England take on Spain.

O2 Arena – London

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is hosting a screening of the Euros final for 15,000 fans fortunate enough to snap up a ticket in the capital.

Dubbed London’s “largest free screening”, supporters will be able to watch Southgate’s men on a 16-metre screen at the Greenwich Peninsular arena.

The screening will start at 6pm with pre-match entertainment before kick-off at 8pm.

The Mayor of London said: “I am so proud of what this team have achieved in reaching another major final. I’m delighted that we can now invite 15,000 England fans to The O2 on Sunday night for what we all hope will be a night of great drama and celebration.

“For those who can’t make it to The O2, there will be a plethora of pubs, clubs, bars and other hospitality venues across London receiving a welcome economic boost and generating a fantastic atmosphere by showing the match.

“We all recall the heartache of Wembley three years ago but being a football fan requires eternal optimism and we now stand ready once again to roar on the Three Lions as they look to finish the job against Spain. Come on England.”

City Hall’s ballot to secure tickets opened at 10am Thursday and closes Friday.
