England are now one game from the Euro 2024 final – only the Netherlands stand between them and a direct shot at glory.
Gareth Southgate’s side have laboured to this point, only winning one of their five matches inside 90 minutes, but will believe they can reach a second consecutive European Championship final.
The Three Lions won their quarter-final against Switzerland on penalties after Bukayo Saka cancelled out Breel Embolo’s opener.
But they will need to significantly improve if they are to beat the Netherlands and whichever European power they could face in the final.
Who could England play in the Euro 2024 final?
If England can beat the Netherlands, they will face either France or Spain in the final.
France have reached this point after coming second in Group D, trailing Austria after a disappointing group stage in which they drew with both Poland and the Netherlands.
Didier Deschamps’ men are yet to score a goal from open play in this tournament – they beat Belgium in the last 16 thanks to a Jan Vertonghen own goal then beat Portugal on penalties in the quarter-finals.
Kylian Mbappe is still not 100 per cent after breaking his nose earlier in the tournament, with the masked Real Madrid striker hauled off in extra-time against Portugal having scored just one goal all tournament.
Meanwhile, Spain have been the most impressive and aesthetically-pleasing side throughout this tournament, with young wingers Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal leading a scintillating attack.
Anchored by Rodri, perhaps the best player in the world, Luis de la Fuente’s side have a strong mix of youth and experience.
While Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand are unavailable to face France due to suspension and Pedri has picked up a tournament-ending injury, this is still an incredibly strong side.
RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo has been incredibly dangerous when called up throughout Euro 2024, scoring twice and picking up two assists despite starting only one match so far.
When is the Euro 2024 final?
The Euro 2024 final takes place in Berlin’s Olympiastadion at 8pm BST on Sunday 14 July, exactly one month after the tournament began in Munich.
