Manchester City have been handed Chris Hughton’s Brighton and Hove Albion side in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, having defeated Swansea away in the quarter-finals.
Following Brighton’s dramatic penalties win over Millwall on penalties, having scored a goal disallowed incorrectly for offside, they have been dealt the somewhat more challenging tie of Manchester City. They will have to halt Pep Guardiola’s pursuit of the quadruple if they are to see the final.
Watford, who triumphed over their longtime rivals Crystal Palace, will play Wolves. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side defeated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United in an underwhelming performance from the Red Devils, otherwise resurgent under the Norwegian.
Manchester City are the strong favourites of the bookmakers, who place the Citizens at 4-9 to lift the trophy. Wolves are at 4-1, while Watford and Brighton are considered outsiders at 10-1 and 16-1 respectively.
