Romelu Lukaku has described as “lies” any suggestion that he had a dressing room bust-up with Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba.
The Belgian striker, who has hit a purple patch of form in recent weeks, took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to dismiss a back page story from The Sun.
The newspaper claims Lukaku had a “dramatic bust-up” with Pogba after being denied a hat-trick when the midfielder took a last-minute penalty against Southampton on Saturday.
Lukaku had already scored twice when the penalty was given and is said to have had a “stern” conversation with Pogba that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had to calm down.
However, Lukaku claims the story is nonsense. He wrote on Twitter: “When the hate don’t work they start telling lies…”
