England squad numbers: What all 26 players will be wearing on their Euro 2020 shirts

Captain and first choice centre-forward Harry Kane will wear the No 9 shirt as he leads England‘s bid for glory at Euro 2020.

The Tottenham striker has been confirmed as one of 26 players who will comprise the England squad at this summer’s tournament.

Jordan Pickford will wear the No 1 jersey, which suggests he will be starting in goal for the Group D fixtures against Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic.

Further forward, Kyle Walker has been handed the No 2 shirt ahead of fellow right-backs Kieran Trippier (No 12), Reece James (No 24) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (No 22) while Luke Shaw claims No 3 ahead of left-back rival Ben Chilwell (No 21).

John Stones (No 5) and Harry Maguire (No 6) would appear to be first-choice centre-backs while Declan Rice (No 4) and Jordan Henderson (No 8) have the first XI numbers in midfield.

Jack Grealish will take the No 7 shirt, which suggests the Aston Villa playmaker could have a key part to play this summer, while experienced forwards Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford takes the No 10 and 11 shirts respectively.

While the players with numbers 1-11 will be feeling confident of being in the starting line-up, Southgate will be keeping a close eye on injuries and form as the tournament progresses.

What Southgate said about his squad

“I think every squad is difficult because we have a lot of talented players in this country” Southgate said on England’s YouTube channel.

“The most difficult thing is to not be able to take players who’ve been with us in previous matches and who are such good professionals.

“So, I know what a disappointment that is for them at the moment not to be going to a major championship.

“But we still have two friendlies to get to, and there’s been plenty of examples over the years where there have been injuries in those friendlies that have ruled people out.

“So there’s still time for those guys even though they’re not in at this moment in time.”
