West Bromwich Albion have a new mascot. It’s not a lion, or a tiger, or an eagle, or a shark, it’s… a boiler.
The Championship club unveiled the combi boiler with arms, legs and a cap to the home crowd on Saturday, ahead of their 2-1 defeat to Bolton.
Fans were quick to dub him “Boiler Man” – although his real name is actually Colin the Combi. No, honestly.
He exists as a result of a new sponsorship deal between the club and Ideal Boilers.
Everyone expected the company logo to be splashed on the front of the Baggies’ blue and white striped shirts, but no one saw Boiler Man coming.
Fans can’t get enough of Boiler Man
Which is why social media erupted with confused delight when he strolled out onto the Hawthorns pitch.
How have I only just seen this
Meet West Brom’s new mascot… yes, it’s a boiler with legs, wearing a cap. I kid you not. I love this season already

"What are your mascots then?"
"Ours is a fox"
"We have a tiger"
"Lion. You?"
"Oh… ours is just a combi boiler with legs" pic.twitter.com/HpRFmgP2ye— Sean (@wolves_1990) August 4, 2018
Fans of the main West Brom mascot, Baggie Bird, need not worry – he’s still the club’s official mascot.
It’s just he now has a friend who can keep him warm at night.
Here are some more of the best reactions to Boiler Man’s bizarre existence…

“Literally a combi boiler on legs”
Thinking about it, the best thing about the West Brom boiler mascot is that it is literally a combi boiler on legs. No googly eyes. No cheery smile. No cartoon eyebrows. Cannot wait to see it doing the Remembrance Day memorial with the lads.

What a sight it'll be when the West Brom boiler mascot has to observe a minute's silence like these lads. pic.twitter.com/kxhiAegQxd

Best moment of the season already
West Brom having a Boiler as a mascot is the highlight of the year. Might as well jib the entire season off, nothing is going to top that. pic.twitter.com/VLupet2Oic

West Brom announced their partnership with Ideal Boilers in May, following their relegation from the Premier League.
The club signed a two-year deal with the firm that will see Ideal be their kit sponsor for the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons.
Here’s Colin dancing in all his glory…
