Although Manchester United‘s travels to Spain for their final Champions League Group H fixture against against Valencia aren’t a complete dead rubber, the Red Devils have already qualified and remain unlikely to top the group with a win.
United’s standing in the group technically remains dependent upon how they fare in the final group match, and whether Juventus secure a result away from home at BSC Young Boys.
If the Italians lose to Young Boys – who in a guaranteed fourth place have no real motivation to win without the promise of the Europa League – Jose Mourinho‘s side can top the group with a win.
It is therefore highly likely they will not finish the group as winners – but stranger things have happened in European football.

Manchester United will probably finish as runners up in Group H. In this case, they face a host of tough opposition of which the least terrifying are probably Porto, or possibly Lyon.
The likes of Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or an in-form Borussia Dortmund are fairly formidable and horrible prospects for Mourinho’s struggling side.
No doubt all Manchester United fans are currently BSC Young Boys fans for one night only.
