Sunday’s Premier League clash between Leeds United and Arsenal was temporarily suspended due to a power cut at Elland Road.
The game was less than three minutes in when referee Chris Kavanagh and his assistants appeared to lose connectivity with the VAR and goalline technology.
i understands a power outage in the Hawkeye van resulted in a communications breakdown between the match officials and the VAR hub.
Managers Jesse Marsch and Mikel Arteta were initially informed of the technical problem, before the two sets of players were taken off the field. A stadium announcer told the 37,000-strong crowd that a “power cut” had caused a problem.

Leeds and Arsenal fans were quick to chant their displeasure about the stoppage. It initially appeared as though there was an electrical jump, as lights in Elland Road flickered.
“The game is temporarily suspended, after a power cut causes issues with the referee’s communications systems,” Leeds said in a statement.
The game eventually got back underway after a half-hour wait.
