Jordan Henderson has recovered from the injury he sustained against Sweden and is fit to resume his place as England’s midfield anchor in the World Cup semi-final meeting with Croatia on Wednesday.
The Liverpool midfielder was limping badly as he returned to the Samara Arena pitch to applaud England’s supporters after their quarter-final victory on Saturday and has been struggling with a tight hamstring. Henderson has been manager Gareth Southgate’s first-choice defensive midfielder for the tournament, starting every single match apart from against Belgium when Southgate played a largely second string side with qualification already secured.
Henderson was able to train fully with the rest of the squad at England’s Zelenogorsk training base on Monday, the first session since the Sweden match, having spent Sunday in recovery. England’s medical team are monitoring Henderson’s situation and will manage it ahead of the match.

Jamie Vardy, however, remains a doubt for the semi-final after straining his groin against Colombia and requiring an injection straight after the match. He was unable to play against Sweden.
