Jamie Vardy was replaced at half-time against Brentford after a muted first-half performance in their Premier League clash, spotted later with strapping on his leg.
Vardy has been in fine form recently, scoring five times in his previous four league appearances, but he only had six touches of the ball in the entire first half as Brentford enjoyed most of possession.
He was replaced by Patson Daka, who followed up his first Leicester goal against Manchester United last week with four against Spartak Moscow in the Europa League on Thursday.
Leicester had taken the lead in the 14th minute through a Youri Tielemans thunderbolt but it was far from one way traffic; Brentford had a goal disallowed and were denied twice more by smart Kasper Schmeichel saves during the first half.
Thomas Frank’s side remained in the ascendancy after half-time and scored a deserved equaliser on the hour mark through Mathias Jorgensen who flicked on a Mathias Jensen corner at the near post.
Despite the hosts’ dominance, Leicester restored their lead in the 73rd minute through James Maddison. Daka, Vardy’s replacement, played a pivotal role in the goal as he squared for Maddison after being played through by Tielemans.
