The third edition of the Uefa Nations League starts in June 2022, with promotion, relegation and European glory on offer once more.
France were the winners last time out, beating Spain 2-1 in the final back in October, while Portugal won the inaugural tournament when overcoming the Netherlands 1-0 in 2019.
There were no mishaps in the draw featuring Robert Pires and Gaizka Mendieta, at least, just three days after Uefa’s efforts in the Champions League.
It placed England in a group that will have them reminiscing about Euro 2020. They were drawn against Germany – the nation they beat in the last 16 – and Italy, whom they lost to in the final. Hungary are also in Group A3 in League A.
Elsewhere, Wales face Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland in Group A4, while down in League B, the Republic of Ireland and Scotland are in the same group along with Ukraine and Armenia.
Northern Ireland, in League C, face Greece, Kosovo and Cyprus or Estonia in Group C2.
For those who need a handy reminder of what Group A3 or League C means, our brief explainer is below.

How does the Nations League work?
All 55 Uefa member associations are divided into four leagues depending on their coefficient.
League A is made up of the 12 best ranked nations, while Group D features the 16 lowest-ranked nations.
Within those leagues the nations are divided into four groups of three or four. Teams play each other twice, home and away.
The winners of the groups in Leagues B, C and D will be promoted, while the bottom-placed sides in A, B and C will be relegated for the next edition.
A nation could reach Euro 2024 via the Nations League if they do not get there through the traditional qualifying process – Uefa will confirm the format in due course.
How do the Nations League Finals work?
The four group winners from League A take part in the Finals. A draw will determine the semi-final match-ups, and they take place on 14 and 15 June 2023 before the final and third-place play-off match on 18 June.
