Chelsea will face Championship opposition for the second consecutive round in the FA Cup after drawing Premier League giant-killers Middlesbrough in the quarter-final.
Thomas Tuchel’s side survived a scare against Luton Town in the fifth round, winning 3-2 at Kenilworth Road after twice falling behind but will have to be wary of the threat posed by Boro who have eliminated two “top six” clubs already this season.
Chris Wilder’s side earned a shock victory at Old Trafford in the fourth round, edging past Manchester United after a tense penalty shootout before stunning Spurs at the Riverside with teenage striker Josh Coburn scoring a dramatic extra-time winner.
Elsewhere, Crystal Palace, whose manager Patrick Vieira won the competition five times as a player with Arsenal, will take on Frank Lampard’s struggling Everton, while Southampton host Man City a couple of months after ending their winning run in the league.
Liverpool, who clinched the first major domestic trophy of the campaign by beating Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final, will have to wait until Monday 7 March to find out whether they will play against Nottingham Forest or Huddersfield Town in the last eight.

Reduced Premier League schedule
With six Premier League clubs through to the last eight of the FA Cup, there will be a reduced league schedule that weekend with only four matches taking place.
Wolves will host Jesse Marsch’s Leeds at Molineux on Friday night, followed by Aston Villa vs Arsenal in the early kick-off slot on Saturday afternoon.
The final two games will be held on Sunday, with Leicester welcoming Brentford and Spurs in action against London rivals West Ham.
With so few matches taking place, Fantasy Premier League managers will face having a shallow pool of players to pick from. A solution could be to use the Free Hit chip which allows managers to make unlimited changes to their squad for one week.
