Premier League title-chasing Liverpool and Manchester City could be set for a Wembley showdown in the FA Cup semi-final as long as Jurgen Klopp’s side avoid an upset against Nottingham Forest.
Liverpool have closed the gap on City to a solitary point ahead of their meeting at the Etihad on Sunday 10 April and should the Reds progress to the last four of the FA Cup, they will play each other again the following weekend.
City, who last won the competition in 2019, breezed through to the semi-final courtesy of a 4-1 victory against Southampton, secured thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez.
The other semi-final is an all-London affair with Chelsea in action against Crystal Palace. Thomas Tuchel’s team comfortably dispatched Manchester United and Tottenham’s conquerors Middlesbrough in the quarters, with Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech both on target.

Palace, meanwhile, thrashed Everton 4-0 in front of a buoyant Selhurst Park crowd with Marc Guehi, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Wilfried Zaha and Will Hughes the scorers.
Unfortunately for the Eagles and Conor Gallagher, the England international will be unavailable to play in the game due to terms of his loan deal from Chelsea.
Chelsea, who have won more FA Cup finals (eight) than any other club still in the competition, were beaten finalists last season, losing 1-0 to Leicester. Crystal Palace’s previous final appearance came in 2016 when they were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United.
When will the semi-finals be played?
The semi-finals will be played at Wembley Stadium and take place on the weekend commencing Saturday 16 April.
The final is on Saturday 14 May.
