Premier League results in full: Liverpool thrashed by Brighton, Man Utd stun City, Everton face fan mutiny

Manchester United threw open the title race with two late goals in a 2-1 win over Manchester City – giving Arsenal the opportunity to go eight points clear should they win the north London derby.

It was a derby win that was not without contention, with Marcus Rashford offside in the build-up to Bruno Fernandes’ equaliser but as he was deemed not to be impeding the City defenders, his goal was allowed to stand.

There was more misery too for Liverpool, beaten 3-0 by Brighton as goals from Solly March (2) and Danny Welbeck condemned Jurgen Klopp’s side to a third consecutive game without a win in all competitions.

Back on Merseyside, Everton made their way to a potentially mutinous Goodison Park, having announced the board would not be present after what a safety advisor described as a “real and credible threat” to their safety amid the ire prompted by the Toffees’ recent form. “Sack the board” rang out from the terraces at the final whistle.

Frank Lampard’s side stay in the relegation zone following their 2-1 home defeat to Southampton, who picked up their first win in the Premier League under Nathan Jones.

David Moyes is another man under serious pressure, with West Ham beaten 1-0 by Wolves. The same can be said of Brendan Rodgers, whose Leicester City were humbled in their derby with Nottingham Forest.
