Leeds United have closed Elland Road until further notice while West Yorkshire Police investigate a security threat to the premises.
The Premier League club confirmed their offices, foundation offices, ticket office and club shop have been closed “on the advice of the police”, with staff sent home due to the incident.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and we will inform the public when normal service resumes,” the club added in a statement.
The evacuation of Leeds’ stadium comes after West Yorkshire Police received reports of a threat – understood to have been made on social media – at 9.49pm on Thursday night.
“Investigations are currently ongoing to establish the credibility of that threat,” the West Yorkshire Police said.
The football international break means Leeds are not in action this weekend.
The Premier League campaign resumes next month, with Leeds travelling to leaders Arsenal on 1 April.
Leeds’ next home match is on Tuesday 4 April against Nottingham Forest, with both clubs currently in a nine-way battle to avoid relegation.
Leeds are 14th in the Premier League table, having beaten Wolves last Saturday, while Forest are two places below them in 16th.
