Sergio Aguero injury: Will Manchester City star be fit to face Cardiff?

Sergio Aguero has emerged as a must-have in the Fantasy Premier League this season but midway through a double Gameweek and the Manchester City striker is suffering from injury.

The Argentine scored his 19th goal of the season against Fulham on Saturday as well as his 10th assist and notched up another 10 FPL points in the process.

But not long after the interval, Aguero appeared to be limping and was substituted by manager Pep Guardiola.

How bad is Aguero’s injury?

“He says he felt something, but hopefully he’s not injured,” said Guardiola after Saturday’s match at Craven Cottage.

“He decided on not continuing. Hopefully it will not be a big issue. We will see tomorrow, maybe the day after tomorrow.”

Aguero subsequently sat out a light training session on Sunday while being assessed by City’s medical team but there has been no further updates on his fitness since.

Should I take Aguero out of my FPL team?

Not yet.

City host Cardiff on Wednesday night as they seek to regain the mantle of Premier League leaders taken by Liverpool after their win over Tottenham on Sunday.

That game is still part of the ongoing Gameweek 32 and City are sitting out of Gameweek 33 because of their FA Cup semi-final against Brighton at the weekend.

Therefore Aguero will have plenty of time to recover ahead of City’s next important FPL encounter against Crystal Palace in Gameweek 35.

Nevertheless, plenty of FPL managers will be hoping he returns in time for the Cardiff game… especially those who made him “triple captain” in this double Gameweek.
