Richarlison wants to leave Everton for a ‘bigger club’ with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham all interested

Richarlison feels the time is right to leave Everton, and wants to move to a bigger club that will help him preserve his status within the Brazil national team.

Sources close to the Brazilian say that while he holds great affection for Everton and it will be difficult to leave Merseyside, a move way from Goodison Park is the preferred option, should the right club come in for him.

“He wants to reach greater heights in his career,” the source told i. “Is he crazy to want to take a chance now? No.

“Because he is now a key national team player he faces great competition for his place. He needs to be at a club of the highest standard, and to play on the biggest stages.”

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all reportedly interested in bringing in Richarlison this close season, after he played such a pivotal role in Everton escaping relegation last term.

i understands no offers have been made as yet, and no contact has been made by any interested clubs. At the moment, Everton’s valuation of the multi-faceted forward could be deterring suitors from making any formal approach.

After such a disappointing domestic season, Frank Lampard is keen to reshape his Everton squad this summer, where the sale of Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin could help fund any overhaul. i understands offers for Richarlison or Calvert-Lewin would have to be “seriously good ones” for them to sell, but they would be willing to listen to any approaches.

Defender James Tarkowski is set to be the club’s first major signing of the summer, with an announcement imminent on the free agent’s arrival, while the funds from any potential Richarlison sale could be used to bring in Hull’s young star Keane Lewis-Potter, who is rated at around £30m, as a replacement.

Director of football Kevin Thelwell and Lampard are targeting “young and hungry” players to refresh the squad.

The potential loss of Richarlison will be difficult for fans to take, with the Brazilian having become a figurehead for their survival bid. The image of him launching a blue flare back into the crowd, as well as his constant jibes mocking Merseyside rivals Liverpool on social media, have helped him create cult-like status on the blue half of Stanley Park. He has two years on his current contract still left to run.
