The 2022 World Cup kicks off this weekend, with hosts Qatar playing their first ever game in the tournament.
It’s the first time the World Cup has been held in winter in the Northern Hemisphere, as Qatar’s summer would have been too hot to play safely.
The tournament has become highly controversial, with critics shining a light on Qatar’s human rights record.
England and Wales have both reached the tournament, while Brazil are favourites to take home the trophy.
Here’s the full schedule for the group stage, and how to watch.
When does the World Cup start?
The opening World Cup fixture will be on Sunday 20 November, with Qatar taking on Ecuador at 4pm GMT.
This Group A match is the only game being played on the opening day.
The match, which is being played at Al Bayt Stadium, will be preceded by the opening ceremony.
When are England and Wales playing?
England’s first game comes on day two of the tournament – they take on Iran in a Group B fixture at 1pm on Monday 21 November.
Wales are in the same group as England, so will play on the same day. They face the USA at 7pm.
Wales’ second game is against Iran at 10am on Friday 25 November, before England play the USA at 7pm.
England and Wales face each other in their final group game on Tuesday 29 November at 7pm.
