The draw for the Europa League play-offs is taking place on Monday, with Manchester United set to find out their opponents.
Erik ten Hag’s side are in the play-off round because they finished second in their group, with a 1-0 away victory against Real Sociedad not quite enough to unseat the Spanish side as group winners.
United knew they needed to win by a two-goal margin to avoid the play-offs, but after falling just short could now face Barcelona, Juventus or Ajax to book a place in the last 16.
Arsenal, however, did win their group, earning a crucial bye into the next round proper – here’s everything you need to know about the play-offs.
What time is the Europa League draw today?
The Europa League draw is taking place at 12pm UK time on Monday 7 November.
Subscribers to BT Sport – which has exclusive rights to the competition in the UK – will be able to watch the proceedings live on TV from 12pm, or via the BT Sport App here.
You can also watch the draw for free on the BT Sport YouTube channel here, with the stream also starting at 12pm.
Which teams are in the Europa League play-offs draw?
The eight teams that came second in their Europa League groups earned a spot in the play-offs:
- Manchester United
- Midtjylland
- Monaco
- Nantes
- PSV Eindhoven
- Rennes
- Roma
- Union Berlin
These clubs are joined by the eight teams who came third in their respective Champions League groups:
- Ajax
- Barcelona
- Juventus
- Leverkusen
- Salzburg
- Sevilla
- Shakhtar Donetsk
- Sporting CP
Teams cannot face another from the same national association in the play-offs, meaning that PSV Eindhoven, for example, cannot be drawn against Ajax.
However, with all four English clubs making it through the group stages, Man Utd can face any of the sides joining the competition for the play-offs stage.
When are the fixtures for the Europa League play-offs?

- Feyenoord
- Freiburg
- Real Sociedad
- Union Saint-Gilloise
The draw for the round of 16 will take place on Friday 24 February, with the fixtures played over two legs on Thursday 9 and Thursday 16 March.
